Oana Stanciu     |     PhD Student

My PhD explores how humans teach and learn from each other using behavioral experiments and computational modeling in the rational-agent framework.

I investigate whether teachers monitor the knowledge and inference-making of their students and how this subsequently leads them to adapt their teaching behavior. Conversely, I am interested in whether learners are tracking cues to the uncertainty of potential informants and can exploit this information when learning from others.

Lastly, I explore ways in which humans can become better teachers by receiving training on other tasks such as active learning.
